Commercial vehicle cases usually come with more data than other collisions and more ways to get the physics wrong. ECM and EDR downloads can establish speed, braking, and throttle before impact, which puts more of the exhibit on measured values rather than assumption. But a tractor-trailer does not behave like a passenger car. Jackknife, trailer swing, off-tracking, and rollover thresholds depend on the articulation between units and on how the load was distributed, and those are calculated results rather than choices an animator makes. We build from the download data, scene measurements, scan data, and the retained expert's reconstruction.
