Loading Dock Fall Case
A worker was seriously injured at a loading dock when the truck he was loading pulled away before loading was complete. He sustained serious injuries to his arm, shoulder, and head.
The worker was still at the rear of the trailer securing the door when the driver, believing loading had finished, departed. At issue was the condition of the trailer door itself. Mechanical problems with the door meant it took the worker longer than normal to close and latch, leaving him at the rear of the trailer at the moment the driver pulled away.
We were retained by the plaintiff's attorney to produce a stop-motion visualization of the plaintiff expert's theory of the case. The sequence was built from [the evidence you worked from: site photographs, trailer and door measurements, equipment specifications, deposition testimony] and shows the worker's position at the door, the trailer's departure from the dock, and the fall that followed.
Not every case needs continuous motion video. Where the dispute turns on a sequence of positions rather than on speeds and timing, stop-motion delivers the same clarity at substantially lower cost.
